Blasch Precision Ceramics Continues To Build Its Technical Team
Albany, NY – December 6, 2017
Blasch Precision Ceramics, Inc. is an Albany-based manufacturing company specializing in net-shape engineered ceramic products. Blasch is proud to announce its latest addition: Peter Hoskins, Product Development Engineer.
Peter is a recent graduate of Alfred University with a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering. Peter brings with him technical skills in the laboratory as well as the workshop. His expertise thus far include glass making, drying, and annealing, as well as additive manufacturing, optics assembly, and epoxy bonding. In addition, Peter has a great range of experience in computer software including LABVIEW, SolidWorks and MATLAB. As a recent Prototype Intern at Rochester Precision Optics, Peter operated as a materials advisor, assembly-worker, and tester for the pre-manufacturing design team, working to ensure that parts met specific design requirements and that their features were adequately assessed for visual precision and environmental wear resistance.
As the newest member of the Product Development team, Peter will be specializing in the markets where wear and abrasion are of primary concern. “Peter brings with him a fresh perspective and strong interpersonal skills that we are certain will make an immediate impact at Blasch,” commented Jack Parrish, Blasch Precision Ceramics President and Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to having him on our team.”
