Silicon Nitride
SINTRON Silicon Nitride (Si3N4) is a material designed for exceptional wear, molten metal, and corrosion resistance at a reasonable price. It can be formed into a variety of relatively complex shapes with good tolerance control, without incurring traditional hard tooling setup charges. It also exhibits exceptional oxidation and thermal shock resistance.
ADVANTAGES OF SINTRON
- High strength over a wide temperature range
- Thermally conductive
- High fracture toughness/hardness
- Good chemical resistance
- Nonwetting to molten nonferrous alloys
